I only sell a few at the sale barn but I see a bit less of a black/CAB premium recently. I think good beef breed calves and fats of any color are in short supply and good Herefords are bring prices about equal to similar quality blacks. 

It's tough to judge a few Herefords selling against large groups of blacks, but for many operations I think there are reasons to go with Herefords. Modern Herefords from good breeders are very different than 50+ years ago.

The AHA seems to be focused on things that matter like feed efficiency.
