Ok Puff, what you have is the most common AG six bolt rim of all time. I would try real hard to find some six bolt 16" rims and run used pickup or trailer tires. We have a couple dozen wagons with them and run up to 50 mph loaded but not as far as you go. "Here" we can collect a large number of tires for free from friends that still run 16" on trucks (stay with load range E or better not LT's). I can't remember what you have for a truck but if it was me I would be hunting a goosenck trailer frame to mount the gravity bed on for that many road miles.

After looking at your pics a little closer, that rear tire wear is from either a bent rear axle or not aligned with the front, and truck tires will also wear if that is the case.
