| At the time I read that the left had hidden a lot of bloat into that bill that would have never passed on its own. I never paid attention to what it was but often bills are killed by the opposition, in both directions, for that reason.
It would have been a perfect bill to hide crap in actually because the public had desperately wanted border security for all of Biden’s term. Now, as his term neared the end introducing a bill to toughen the border security would be an easy sell and most of the public would view it only at face value and not worry about anything else hidden in it. Then, if it faces any opposition and didn’t pass the left could say they tried but the right killed it.
If we all take a step back we would see a lot of conflicting stories. There was the claim of “the most secure border ever”. The Biden regime fighting with Texas who was trying to secure the border. Four years of the left refusing to admit there was a border issue only to propose a bill to fix a problem they denied and then blame the right for not allowing them to secure the border. | |
