I never thought of water as a thinner for polish, as the polish would wash off in the rain. Will try though.
WHAT does it smell like? Oil? Wax? Tallow? I always thought it smelled like crayons which are beef tallow based product in many cases.
I would think its more of in the line of wax base or beef tallow based product . Something leather friendly. Water is not. Perhaps something more oil and wax based to thin it with.(and heat)
