As example my brother wouldn't come do a couple hours baling because it was Thanksgiving.
With your autism, you probably have a difficult time understanding this, but it is important to him to spend days like that with his family. Too much stepping out to bale on Thanksgiving and his kids will grow up thinking that dad thought the baling was more important to him than spending time with them.
If the brother failed to help on any other run-of-the-mill day, well, he might have a good excuse that might not be any of your business, or he could just be lazy and you would have a legit reason to be upset. Having a family of his own complicates things for him and prevents him from coming to your assistance at the drop of the hat. It is important for your future working together (if there will be one) for you to learn and understand this. |
