| Who’s in charge of the cows? Who’s in charge of the crops? Who’s in charge of maintenance and repairs? Every major decision obviously needs to be discussed but ultimately it needs to be who ever is in charge of that departments final decision.
The whole work life balance thing is hard to understand if you’re single. In my 20s I’d work 7 days a week 12-15 hour days and loved it. Now married with kids I really enjoy spending time with them and try to make things as efficient as possible at the farm so there’s more hours available for family time. Your brother doesn’t want a parlor that requires more work. He wants a quick modern way to milk I’m guessing.
100 cow farm can’t afford 3 full time people. If you’re the type that keeps score on hours worked between you and your brother then it’ll never work. Send cousin on his way and give brother his family time. When he’s off spending time with family you can start another enterprise and go spend your time doing that. Or stay at the farm upset because he isn’t there and he’s upset because you’re upset.
Find something that makes you happy in life, depression is a bad bad deal, make sure you take care of it. Best of luck | |
