right or wrong we used to put our Hostiens that were 5-7 months old right from hay and corn silage on to grass with no concerns, but that is different then what yours are being fed, I would be more comfortable if you had backed off the grain and fed more hay 10 + days ago already to get there gut bugs going better, a few flakes is not a lot of hay spread over multiple calves.
