Western Ontario | Russ, the pic of the chopper brought back memories of 35 years ago when I was in New Zealand. I was lucky enough to stay on a farm that was 6500 acres on top of an extinct volcano, remarkable scenery, the owner was a great guy and we got along really well, one night at supper he asked if I’d ever been in a helicopter before and when I said no he said to be ready at 6 am. The next morning this old chopper came in, basically 2 seats and I sat on a milk crate in the middle, he was there to spray brush, and when the owner said “there’s a patch over there” the pilot would just slam the stick in that direction!! Wild ride, I later found out he was one of the crazy buggers that flew the fertilizer planes (look it up on YouTube) and after he crashed something like 15 times they took his plane pilots license away!
Been a tough couple of weeks in our area for young people passing away due to accidents, including 4 young women and their teacher returning from a softball tournament and another young man that went to high school with my daughter dying in a dirt bike accident, just a reminder that I don’t have any problems at all. | |
