Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | My Nephew has a Manitou telehandler that they use with forks at times. It is difficult to see the tips of the forks in certain positions. Based on advice here, I ordered this camera and monitor unit from Amazon.
It came with two cameras which have a magnetic mount and a small solar panel for each The solar panel is supposed to keep the camera battery charged. The cameras can also be charged with a USB C type cable. The picture is transmitted wirelessly to the monitor. It gets its power from a USB C type connector also.
I don't know how the solar charging has worked for them. Since the camera Ad mentions an RV, it would be in the Sun quite a bit. If using it with a rig that is stored in a building maybe the charging would be an issue.
The unit is easily removable since the camera is just stuck on with magnets. The cab portion can easily be removed too if necessary. When doing some rough work such as tree removal etc. I think it would be wise to remove the camera.
They furnish two cameras with the kit so one can be upfront and the other to the rear. I only installed one for the telehandler for the front. We are saving the other in case of damage.
I have not personally used it in their telehandler but I guess it is working OK. I have considered getting one for my small loader tractor that has short forks. I'm not certain of a mounting spot for it.
The kit was very complete with wall adapters, cables etc. The unit has two antennas which is supposed to improve communications in difficult mounting locations.
