When I was a seed dealer. I had 2 different hail storms in different years where the hail must of piled up on the ground that it must of froze the growing point. I was pretty new to the business and everyone said the plants would recover. In a couple of days I dug up plants and sliced the plant in 2 and the growing point was mushy and brown. Good luck!
