Except it's not just the "members" reaping the benefits, is it? It's all producers. Then you have a classic free rider problem. I swear, Y'all haven't ever had any concept of a civics class. "Just let the ones who want sewers pay for them."

Good Lord.

Do you have reading comprehension problems? If the markets it creates or buyers it inks are so great, why can't it be a private venture that only the members get to participate in. It isn't a sewer, which if you want to hook up to you have to pay a fee, not even relevant(on second thought, it has a lot to do with a sewer but not in the context you used). I don't want to be a free rider in the checkoff's great things, because if they were so great a private company would be doing it. The checkoff is all smoke and mirrors and credit taking for things they didn't actually do, for the most part. Do the bean processors pay into the checkoff? Do the crayon makers pay into the checkoff? Do the south american producers pay into the checkoff because the crayons surely make all bean prices go up. So the south americans are freeloading off of our checkoff. The whole thing is so flawed and such a joke it isn't even funny. That is why they won't let those of us funding it have a chance to fairly dispose of it once and for all.......because it would be disposed of. It is a scam for guys that like to dress in slacks or suits to have something to do and an income stream and even publicity on the backs of us out here doing the grunt work.
