Did you also know that the legal tolerance is one tenth or 2% of total to be legally tendered? I recently found this out. So I can order a load of 32% nitrogen and it may only actually be 30% nitrogen and that is legally acceptable. Now what if you have a coop or supplier that likes to add a little water to it. We would never know. The point is we all should probably be sending samples to labs to make sure it is what they say it is. Same thing with starters, we put 100% trust into our suppliers.
Did you know there are legal tolerances for basically everything, including but not limited to scales used for trade (used for grain, fertilizer and feed) and gas pumps? You can take the same truck load over two different scales and get weight that are 100’s of pounds different and both are legal.
Do you test gasoline or diesel to make sure you’re not buying water? Do you check the pumps for accuracy?
How far do you take it to check that everyone isn’t out to screw you?
