I would run 2 lengths of 3/8" or 1/2" threaded rod, through the 4x4s, and through the wall, just below the soffit.
I would use nuts and USS washers on the outside 4x4s, and a couple of pieces of 8x8 plywood, with nuts and USS washers on the inside wall.
