I always sidedress 50 lbs also. If I leave check strips it it’s usually a wash, sometimes pays, sometimes not. I figure it levels out some variation from the manure. Where we have manure with a dragline I border the field with a full rate to account for the turning areas where there are triangles that get nothing.
