Subject: Kochia Enlist beans

Mitchell, SD
Since I’m new to enlist beans, thought I would hopefully hear the success stories of this program on kochia. I realize 2,4-D is not good on kochia at all but I have never used rates as high as a qt of enlist. I do have some isolated areas with kochia in a couple areas. Most other weeds in the field would get a better kill with roundup than liberty. Was thinking of trying my luck with roundup/enlist first then coming back about a week later (when it warms up more) to hit with liberty (20gpa) in certain areas. I’m hoping that this will work better than a one shot of enlist/liberty in current conditions and not make them tougher to kill (with the liberty). Yes, kochia is getting big in spots. As my luck would have it, my flex beans are cleaner than the enlist. Only have applied pre’s (sulfen/metribuzin) on my beans so far this year. Used fall valor so things are quite clean, except these few acres. Thanks for your insight.
