He does note that the specific med, Atorvastatin, in high doses was the one used in the study that resulted in the side effects. There are much more potent brands of statins now that can be used in lesser amounts that result in less side effects.
Also, I'd venture to guess that he is on a statin, given the information he quickly presented on his personal labs and family history. He didn't say he was, but it was implied.
For sure controlling metabolic health is key to controlling heart disease. And our continuous improvement with technology does help us make better patient-centered and individualized treatment plans. | |
