Subject: Wet corn in bin won't dry

Corn came off the driest last fall I've ever seen. Usually haul to the elevator but I filled a 30' diameter bin with 17-18% corn planning to air dry. Froze corn last fall/winter but this spring has been cool and wet and the corn doesn't seem to be drying. Pulled samples from 3-6' down from the top (mostly level) and it's still 17% checked on two testers. I have a 15hp centrifugal fan and the air does seem to be moving through the corn, when I opened the man hatch yesterday I had good air flow, enough to blow bees wings and fines up into my eyes when probing the corn for samples. I am familiar with corn equilibrium charts and been running the fan on the warmer low humidity days so as not to blow moist air in. Probably ran the fan 2-2.5 weeks worth of days now but not running at night with high humidity.

Keep running the fan as I am now weather is warming up? Add heat with a diesel torpedo heater pointed at the fan inlet? Load trucks and wagons to empty as much as I can and refill to move the corn? No other empty bins to transfer too.
