Subject: RE: calving?

East of Broken Bow
In my experience, an average cow can have a calf about a month earlier than they did last year, maybe a little more. That would be 6 weeks to 2 months.

A good cow can gain maybe 2 months, which would be about 4-5 weeks.

A really good cow can come into heat 2-3 weeks after calving, which could gain 2 months as far as earlier calving.

Also, what do you mean by older cows. A 6-7 year old will generally come into heat sooner than a 12 year old.
