Because they do get scurvy. Pretty well known fact that if you don't get enough vitamin c, it happens. Why do you think sailors got it when they only ate meat for years at a time out at sea?

First of all, meat does contain vitamin C.
Second, the sailor's scurvy came from living on hard tac.
Before we knew what vitamin C was, antarctic explorers had a cure for scurvy. You know what it was? MEAT. Google it.
The more carbs you eat. The more vitamin C you need. The less carbs you eat, the less vitamin C you need. |
