NW Washington | Many years ago, when I attended boot camp, the North Shore trains transported people to downtown Chicago. I have not been there in years, but it looks like there is still a passenger rail system that runs north of Chicago. Once in Chicago, you can ride buses or the El to various sites around town. Google is your friend.
