mercer county, il | Same. We work our way along with the skidder and tree puller, first pass pulling small trees and brush. Then come back and pull up on woven wire to pull it out of the ground and loosen it. Then pull posts, lay down, and roll up.
Cutting it into manageable sized segments helps.
Barb wire we roll up with a spool attachment for the post hole digger on the skidsteer.
I have good luck, but I’m kinda anal retentive about the wire and nails and such.
Generally if there’s any brush/wood posts left in the fence we burn it out, and load it on the scrap trailer. A good magnet will get the u nails and everything picked up where you burned if you do it before it rains on it.
