Northern Illinois | I had to look up carb cycling.
I do this but not intentionally. Last Sunday was cookie fellowship after church so I had a cookie. If I am at a birthday party I will have a small piece of cake. I don't go overboard but will have some carbs. 15 years ago I was a addicted to carbs but now I can easily limit them. Looking up carb cycling the articles mention loading up on carbs the day of heavy exercise and specifically mentioned running a marathon. Marathons are early in the day so it is difficult to carbo load for a marathon like many do. I would eat a few more carbs the day before and get up at 3.00 am for some more carbs and then drink Gatorade during the race. My doc was good with this plan.
