Was in this situation last year. I planted it green and sprayed it the next day. It all laid down eventually and didn't cause any problems at harvest.


Works well.

I’ve been cover cropping for literally 40 years and EVERY spring I stop and think “Oh man!, what am I gonna do with all this cover/bio mass?” or whatever some guys call it. Then every August I stop and say I wish there was MORE biomass because my soils absolutely inhale everything and breaks it down until there’s nothing left.

It’s a good problem to have but I love having the soils covered to keep weeds and heat down.
