+1 to how Tedbear was mentioning.

Having 8 columns (ensure you size the columns to make sure they can take the flow rate of 3 of your nozzles) would make sense to me. Again, a 1:1 ratio is more accurate for flow consistency, but that'd mean you'd be replumbing your hoods a fair bit.

So, with 1 column:1 hood (or 3 nozzles under the hood), a change in ball height relative to the other balls/hoods would dictate a ~10% change in flow across all 3 nozzles at once, or a ~30% change in flow for one nozzle of the three (or a combination of partial plugs/etc.). So, it'll tell you if you have more catastrophic plugs, but don't expect to see a single nozzle with 10% flow variation compared to what it should.

So, I'd take a look under the hood to make sure each set of nozzles are the same quantity (e.g. all in groups of 3), and then follow the supply line back to where all the hood supply lines converge, and hopefully that'll be a good visible spot to mount the flow indicators.
