I’ve found that engines that have not run in a while tend to dry out the cylinder walls and aren’t able to build enough compression to start. A squirt of oil in each spark plug hole works wonders. File the points and if you gently tap on the carburetor that will usually free the needle valve if it’s stuck in the seat. Let us know how it goes.
