| The orifice valve is a safety to keep the pump from accidentally getting run too fast. I’m assuming you don’t have the different sizes that came with the pump originally. You can remove it but turn your scv flow control most of the way to turtle first and then slowly increase until you are seeing the pressure you want. On ours it was only about 1/3 of the way up from turtle to make 40 psi while spraying with the recirculating valve open. Yours is a somewhat different set up so it may be different. The main thing is to start slow so you don’t overspeed the pump. Also, you may already know this, but make sure you are running the pump with the scv lever in the forward position so that you can go to float when you want to shut it off. This allows the pump to coast to a stop. Going from running to suddenly stopped by moving the lever to the middle position can blow the seals in the motor. | |
