That's why 3x (or 5x if the planter is smaller) the planter width is ideal for the sprayer width if you want to spray with the rows.
With your contours and spraying cross rows its not a big deal but riding in the planter tractor tracks with the sprayer is really nice. The sprayer rolls easier, steers better and if the field is wet, those rows are already firmed up and you don't sink as much. You can feel it in the steering wheel if you get in the wrong rows.
