Subject: Clipping pastures for pinkeye prevention?

Central Mo
I have a pinkeye outbreak in some weaned fall born calves. My vet recommended clipping the seed heads on the fescue. I started clipping some last night and running the brush hog about 8-10” high trying to avoid taking too much of the grass. Doing this I was wondering about the stem I am cutting off looks like it might be an irritant also, maybe worse than the seed head? Do any of you clip to try to prevent pinkeye? I do normally clip pastures but not until the July-August timeframe.
