NE IL | The only piece of equipment I’ve upgraded that I legitimately wish I had back some days was my 12 row 7000. Was wing fold with a Jamison top drive. Extremely simple and pulled easy. I have a 16 row 1770 and like it for the most part but it’s heavy on the road, takes up more room in the shed and requires some hydraulics to run the vac. My vote would be 7000 or 7200 wing fold. Upgrade to a Jamison drive if not already done. A 1760 would be better yet but gonna cost double or more. I don’t necessarily regret going to a vac planter but there is absolutely nothing wrong with finger pick up.
ETA I would avoid a front fold 7000 and probably 7200 as well. Neighbor just got rid of his front fold 7000 and seemed to always fight getting it to fold (electrical issues).
