| I was an estimator for a commercial masonry company up until 5 years ago. That’s a one day job for a mason and a laborer, call that $100/hr, so $800 labor(includes overhead). $100 for mixer rent maybe, $50 for saw rent, $250 for a diamond blade. So $1200 and that should have been on the high side for a small residential company that doesn’t have millions in overhead. That really doesn’t matter though, it’s the 2.5 times the amount of original bid that is wrong. Did you and the cap as an afterthought after the original bid? That would increase the labor quite a bit from just straight courses, but it’s still high
Edit, Illinois labor is probably quite a bit higher than here, so maybe that’s the difference
