No need to send it to a lab. Yes, when the same cow is mated to the same sire. That is the unfortunate thing for you, all of the offspring of this particular sire are carriers. It takes a copy of chromosome from the sire and dam to show clinical signs. You need to make sure all future bulls have been genetic tested or are clean by pedigree.
