North Central Illinois
I rotationally graze and leave lambs on ewes until late September or early October. Usually range from 70-100 lbs depending on whether they're singles or triplets. That's about the upper limit of what the halal market pays good for. I wean the biggest ones and save them another month or so to add more pounds for my local locker customers. Usually they're around 110-120 lbs. Not very efficient to try to finish them much bigger than that. Mature ewes are around 130-160 lbs.
