coast of Maine | Since I have been on this site,I am so much more informed on the extremes you guys get in the west. Here its fog/snow/cold/damp for the majority of the time.We get a bit of summer at times.Have not seen 100 degrees in 25 years.Never seen a dust cloud.Air filters last years on equipment. Two days of 8 hours of nice sun is about the only above 68 degrees we have had yet.Yes it is too wet in many fields.Got a lot done though and the cool weather crops look sweet.Bees will have a tough time pollinating fruit crops as forecast is darn dark and damp/cool.Most of our tractors have 4wd,not for pulling but for not getting stuck in suck holes. We try to use the weather as our boss.If she says frost we prevent. If its going to be cold we heat(covers etc).Cannot make the darn sun shine though.Dont tell the feds of my dog,he is not allowed in that field by law.
