| CO2 is colorless and odorless gas that is significantly heavier than air. When compressed to 2300 psi it will expand over 200 times in volume so a small pipe can cover a huge area. When there is a leak it will pool in low areas or be trapped against the surface if there is an inversion, which here is over 40% of the time. If you drive into that your vehicle dies and you will too in a few minutes. Rural fire departments will need electric vehicles and oxygen supply for everyone. Figure a million plus for each department.
If there is a leak under a waterway the co2 will react with water and create carbonic acid that will kill everything in the water, along with poisoning ground water.
Maybe you should research what the hazards of co2 are before assuming nobody has put any thought into saying no.
Looking at the time value of land, their offers are short a few zeros. There are several plants locally currently selling to low carbon markets in Canada with the tech they have. Talking with engineers in the ethanol business it is possible for them to lower emissions without piping co2. This will not put any more money in the farmers pockets. Ethanol plants are running wide open and do not have any issue selling their product. | |
