I have hair sheep because I didn't grow up around sheep and knew I couldn't get a shearer to make economic sense with just a few ewes. Most of the market here is halal butchers that get grumpy once lambs get past 80-90 lbs.

Hair lambs work better for that market since they finish lighter anyhow.

As for lambs/ewe, 240% lamb drop from mature ewes has been the norm for me the last several years. I did something wrong this year though as mature ewes came in a little under 200%. Meanwhile the group of yearlings came in at 150% when they normally have 90% singles.
