NW Wisconsin | How many days are you planning on being there? It is easy to spend at least 5-6 days very easy.
Some suggestions.
Spend time with the monuments in the mall. The Washington, Lincoln Memorial, and the Viet Nam Wall are all worth seeing. Visit the Korean War memorial at night. It is the most eerie feeling you will get.
Visit the Holocaust Museum and plan on 4 hours being emotionally challenged.
The National Cathedral is an overlooked treasure.
One can spend considerable time visiting the Smithsonian Mudeums. Try to visit at least a couple.
Air & Space, American & Natural History Museums are all great to visit.
Be sure to visit Arlington National Cemetery and the changing of the guard at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier. When we were there for 45 minutes, there were no cell phones used other than recording videos
Mt. Vernon is a great place to visit. Gettysburg is also worth visiting, but plan on a full day there.
Stay close to the Metro if you can, and use that for travel. Parking can be a challenge.
Tours of the Capitol & White House can be arranged by your elected officials.
Visit Union Station for an interesting collection of eating places.
These suggestions are just the start of things to do.
We have been there several times and it is a great place to visit with the family. In July it will be hot and humid so plan accordingly. The fireworks and program is worth seeing.
Have a great trip | |
