Parker, SD | Everyone has their own experience, however I have never had issues removing manifold bolts on a 5.9, soak a little juice, have a 3/8" impact and rattle away, if they dont move step up to the 1/2" usually they're more likely to be rusted to the manifold then into the head.
sometimes a breaker bar is necessary to the initial break, just a feel you learn if its going to move or not, I would not be to scared of it personally, the 12v manifold is nice as its usually slotted and you can see if the bolt is turning all the way through or just at the head.
If conditions and situation allow its not always bad practice to try and break the bolts after doing a good hot pull with it, when everything is warm. Break the bolts and then retorque so nothing warps as it cools | |
