I suppose it depends on how big the rye is, if it is only a few inches tall and somewhat thin in corn that was just planted with the rye going to be sprayed shortly after then it might not soak up much but I don't know if I would want it sitting on top of fall applied N. I think a few strip guys here are mainly putting down P and K in the band and doing N with planter and sidedress.

I had some rye spread on with the fall broadcast fertilizer and lightly worked it in but didn't apply for any EQUIP or anything since I only wanted #25 lbs. of rye... And nothing else. With it being an earlier planting date for the corn this year it didn't get very big but I'll see how it looks later in the season and go from there. Quite patchy and some fields a lot winterkilled.
