Subject: RE: Very frustrating greenstar rate controller problem.

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Not familiar with the Greenstar rate controllers but 2123 is the suggested starting valve calibration number when your Raven control valve is working with a Raven controller. This 2123 number is NOT Two thousand one hundred twenty three but 4 single digit parameters. It is really 2 - 1 - 2 - 3, where each digit affects different aspects of how the system reacts when adjusting the control valve. These digits usually provide good control in a standard control situation with a valve that requires 8 seconds to go from completely open to completely closed.

It appears you are using a Raven control valve but it is being controlled by a Deere controller. As I recall, Deere uses a 4 digit number also but the meaning of the individual digits is not exactly the same as Raven uses. I would suggest consulting your Deere documentation to determine the suggested starting value for your Deere system.

What this means is that a different 4 digit number might improve your control. Check the post and reply from KRK below. He shows a chart with the suggest valve cal numbers from the Deere documentation.

As others have stated there are many other factors involved such as pump capacity, tip size, plumbing, control valve size, rate etc.
