Sanilac Co. Michigan | Yes, you sure can. I replaced that abominable mechanical tosser on my 24T with one off a 336. I think it was a #33 tosser. You use the same flywheel, but use something like gritted no slip adhesive tape around the perimeter of the the wheel to hold the belt that drives the hydraulic pump on. Don't remember if the baler frame had holes to attach the pump, or I had to cut ones to fit. Pretty simple plumbing, the hydro tank is part of the main tosser assembly. Long wand attached to the hydraulic valve that you turned from the tractor seat to vary the distance of the toss. Similarly, there's a spot to attach a hydraulic cylinder to tilt the tosser left or right to more equally fill the hay wagon, or for going around corners and curves.
I'm a little fuzzy on it now, but I think the tosser mounts were the same as on the mechanical one. Could be the screen shields and tosser pan are the same, too.
Only other thing I remember is how helpful it was to use a spring window compressor on the pick up to better feed short, loose straw and to replace the standard sisl twine knotters with one's made for poly twine. That can save you a lot of headaches. | |
