Small farmer here in seil. 56y/o retired mechanical engineer. I can drive anything. Tender seed, plant, work ground ahead.
I'm done with corn except for lowest bottoms and we are supposed to be in a 3"-4" zone Monday/Tuesday. I'm not planting anything else ahead of that.
I'd come help out someone in need that is dry and behind next week? Maybe someone got hurt or your right hand man is sick or your dad retired last year or whatever?
Not going to take payment. Maybe a couple beers after a big day but not a requirement. I enjoy seeing how others function. Different soil, different techniques, new friends maybe. I have slept in campers and garages for others.
No big operators over 2,000 or so acres (they should have contingency plans.
Although I can fix about anything and I realize stuff breaks, I'm not interested in doing repairs in your shop. Just catch up a one or two man show is my preference.
