Subject: RE: Hydraulic downforce ROI

Remington, IN
Just a couple quick comments:

Hyd downforce on strip till is a good fit in my opinion for 2 primary reasons (disclaimer, I'm a PP dealer).

1 - Anytime the row unit moves off the ideal soft seedbed of strip till out into an untilled area, the hydraulic downforce system will instantly respond to both of those environment extremes.

2 - Your planter/frame would typically not need to be as heavy as a system with air down for the following reason - Air is planter wide. In order to get a row in the ground, air pumps up on all rows, greatly increasing the lift on the frame. Hyd (at least DeltaForce) is row by row, and will only push the rows down that need it, leaving the frame with much less lift on it.
