central sask | Start with something better than WD-40, like Hagens brew, Wurth Roost off Gold or Plus.
If they are held on with studs and nuts clean the exposed threads with a wire brush or wire wheel on a drill if you can.
Then Spray them every 4 or 5 hours for a day ahead of time.
Now you are at the point where almost any trick you try has the same odds of working or twisting off the bolts/studs.
We just did a turbo swap from one 855 Cummins to another when turbo went on our CIH Steiger 9280 tractor, taking the turbo off our 9270 to get going on a saturday at 8pm.
We got very lucky and all the studs came out on both tractors and we had it done in about an hour.
Both tractors have 8500 plus hours and I dont remember changing a turbo on either and we have had both since 2000 hours.
Last year I put a new turbo on an M11 Cummins and 2 studs twisted off and I had been soaking them down a couple times a day for a week before I tried removing them.
I like to try and tighten the bolt/stud first with a strong arm/breaker bar( they dont really have to turn, just put some force on them and maybe they move a tiny bit) then use it to try and break them loose a turn or 2 before putting an impact on them.
