You're assuming a lot about his operation that you don't know. If he only has 1-200 acres and is the only one in his area that chops, a custom guy can't afford to drive 100 miles for a small job.


80 acres maximum, and the single custom guy who is around here is first very expensive and second not easy to get along with, mostly because he shows up when he shows up, without warning, and according to the neighbor who used to use him, that was either a month early or a month late, and either way you had to drop everything and jump when he did show up.

The neighbor no longer does silage for that reason.
