SW Iowa | I know exactly what you're talking about, however the only one of these I regularly unhook is the connection into my GPS globe on an OEM Ag Leader cable... hadn't even realized the shells I got from Mouser didn't have the metal tab.
I looked around at a few data sheets and struck out completely finding any relevant info. Given that the provisions for adding an extra release tab are molded into the plastic it seems like TE surely would sell the metal pieces, however I wonder if it could be something from another connector series that can also be used on Ampseal and is sort of "unofficially" supported? Or possibly might even just be a specific contact--didn't try to check dimensions but this one looked close and saw a few others similar: https://www.te.com/en/product-2-1601119-2.html
