Its tough to beat the Deere factory fertilizer openers. We had an example a few years ago where we had a bearing go out on a fertilizer opener a couple of days before we finsihed up, so we just took it off and ran the hose to the side closing wheels. That same row was yellow all season long and the neighbors asked if we had a row stopped up, I said no we dribbled it on top. We always stop and fix bearings now.
