South Central MN | Mine has the Yetter 2968 in-between mount one, just single side for now. I'm running that little coulter pretty high up so it doesn't leave a whole lot of a slot but is enough to get the fertilizer in except where the ground is overly hard (like where a manure spreader was driven a few times). Using N, 10-34-0, and thio in a blend, also using a carbon based N stabilizer so I don't have to worry if it gets too shallow. Mine uses an orifice and nozzle holder to send a stream into that slot.
Seems built quite solid, haven't had it break yet other than simple things like a plastic hose barb.
Only downside is it moves the closing wheels back so need to get everything lined up during install so you don't have a closing wheel running way off, and can splatter a bit if you have too high of pressure and it sprays on hard ground. Been tempted to figure out a way to put a little rubber flap behind it so it won't do that. | |
