Seems like a good deal for both. Only issue I see is I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone to fiance that small of a loan for 12 years. You better cut it in half then you might find someone willing to do those terms. You'll probably be in that 6 - 7% interest range.

Sorry I was not clear. Nit talking of a bank, other. Land sale=taxable income. So buying needed equipment reduces money government can waste.
This way it’s an investment. It would be planting about 250 acres of corn, about 100 acres soybeans a year. Increasing another 50 acres in 3 years I think.
I just used online loan repayment, interest to *see* what that option would be. Rather than him paying interest. Slightly less pay per acre. I considered it an everyone wins. Plus should be a time saver.
I have not suggested this to him. I know his land as I helped his dad, grandfather, great grandfather with tillage, haying, harvesting over my life. *he is much better of settling up payments quickly*. ;). I have done some tillage, soybean rolling… for him. He has my old 24’ springtooth on decade long loan.
Having him use his combine for my corn really speeds up harvest. I am a solo act. So setting boxes, combine, fill all, unload big boxes, refill then unload everything into night. 4400 gas. 250 BPH filling boxes was about it.
His JD 9400 doing IMO better job. I keep forgetting to time. But using grain carts, unloading on go, gravity box on running auger. Dryer bin fills in afternoon. I can barely dump, get back before he unloads.
I found hopper extensions for his combine. But even folded they might catch his shed door. :(
Just working well working together. Days I have gone up/down bin many times checking. Time to close bin. I tie down augers to bin. *wind damage in past*. So climb up, untie going around top. Climb down, crank up auger, climb up close roof, climb down. He goes up, I do stuff on ground one trip.
He got combine paid off sooner. Using grain cart so much faster, easier then gravity boxes. My gravity boxes are now raised grain pits for augers.
He put in wet holding, corn dryer, storage bin last year. His dad air dried, spring harvested, or hauled corn to be dried 200 bu at a time.
If he can get a decent planter, pre-emerg… tractor with good enough autosteer. He will have something.
