Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle | I do a split, 5 gal of 10-34-0 in furrow, and 5 gal of 32% 0x2 normally, Im not a big fan of N on top of the ground, but that band is much different than broadcast application IMO. Every time I forget to turn on my pumps I can tell exactly where it was, so for me, in furrow is worth the problems.
Ive also done 5&5 of 10-34-0 on some fields that needed more P
On our 6 row planter Ive done a mix of 10 gal of 10-34-0 and 20gal of 32% in the 0x2 and it seemed to work good too
Also looking at taking the sidedress bar and putting down 10-34-0 and some 32% in the fall or early spring in a 2x2 type thing using GPS, I know its another pass but Im looking at going away from broadcasting 11-52-0 on no till acres and I dont want to go back to 2x2 on the planter, we run a mounted planter so weight is a concern. But in my area, leaching of the N is not a concern so I can get away with it.
