ND
A farmer in the area had Praire Hay farm about 450 acres they made a living on for several decades. They had two JD 450 pull type mowers with 9' bars , two finger rakes, two JD small square balers wire tie, two loader tractors JD 2840's with Farmhand loaders with the 8 bale FarmHand , the balers had the 8 bale drop system, then the loader would come along & pick up 8 bales at a time & place on a Hay Rack, pull that to the yard & use the loader to stack the bales in a Hay Shed-a roof building with no sides. This farmer had a tractor on each task, so Eight Tractors all JD, like 2440's & the two 2840's on the loaders. He had one set & the wife the other set. People hauling Cattle to market in semi's liked Praire Hay as it fed the cows but helped bind them up so they would not POOP all the insides of the semi trailers up & Horse Owners liked Praire Hay over the richer Alfalfa. At a 1000 acres you will have your hands busier than you might think. You will need several tractors.
